“If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.”
Matthew 16:24
My cross
Is heavy
I stagger
And fall
Beneath
The weight
Of this life
Trying
To rise
Disillusioned, hurt, cynical, angry, revengeful, troubled
I am apt to blame others for my shortcomings and failures
I aim to
Stand
Upright
Shoulder
My burden
Move ever
Higher to
Carry my
Cross

Amen sir! God bless you!

I think we can all identify with this , Len, regardless of religious affiliation, as each one of us has been given their own cross to carry.

Nice rhythm, perfect for this poem. Perfectly timed for Easter as we ponder our crosses and our new beginnings. Hopefully…

You are always respectful. Tattoos are fun for some and constant reminders for others. I presume.
